Lefty Out There, born Franco Campanella in 1991, is a Chicago-born visual artist who splits his time between Chicago and Los Angeles. He is known for his distinctive visual language composed of interlocking, organic "polymorph" shapes—repetitive squiggles that flow across canvases, walls, clothing, and even digital formats.
These patterns resemble everything from cellular structures to waves and microscopic organisms. Emerging from Chicago’s street-art scene, Lefty transitioned into fine art and has exhibited his work internationally across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. His style often features high-contrast palettes, particularly black and white, drawing influence from Op Art to engage viewers in both the macro and micro details of his work. Lefty has also ventured into the digital art space, releasing NFTs and collaborating with major brands such as Nike and McDonald’s. His overarching artistic philosophy is to “cover everything,” using his patterns to spark curiosity and encourage deeper observation of the everyday world.
