Biography
Leah Wood is a British artist and an environmental activist. Best known for her paintings of nature and endangered species.

Her painting mediums vary from a combination of traditional oils to a textured, unique mix of acrylic, oil, glue, chalks and cling film. By using cling film in her works, Wood aims to highlight the plight of single use plastics and the detrimental impact on our planet. What emerges in Wood’s works is an intricate layered process of construction, deconstruction and finally reconstruction, visible through the textural layers, and resulting something almost sculptural, on a 2D canvas.

The daughter of Rolling Stone and artist Ronnie Wood, Wood has been deeply exposed to the world of music and art since birth.  Widely travelled, she is influenced by the natural world and its beauty, with this and her two young children being her driving force to help in its preservation.

Since graduating from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, Wood has established herself to be an in-demand artist with a global collector base. Most recently showing in ‘The Future Is Female’ mixed show in London’s Garrison Chapel. 2023 saw her exhibiting at the Linley Gallery in London to much acclaim, with works also being exhibited at the Queen’s Jubilee ‘One Planet One Chance’ exhibition (2022). Prior shows include West Contemporary’s pop-up ‘The Devil’s Fuge’ in Covent Garden (2019) and curating and exhibiting in the ‘NOW’ Exhibition in London (2020). In 2018 she was commissioned by the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Hyde Park London to paint over 100 English butterflies on the walls of their Butterfly Terrace at the hotel. Wood is represented by Bloomfield Art.

In addition to showing her works, she has most recently collaborated with Sky Diamonds, to create a stunning signet ring, which is being sold in aid of Neptune’s Pirates, a charity to support the mission to put an end to whaling.  Along with a 2023 collaboration with Jodie Kidd and Manava where her work was been printed onto their sustainable fashion brand.
