Biography

Emma Tate is a British-American sculptor whose lifelong passion for horses is at the heart of her work. Raised in an equestrian family, with a blacksmith father and a mother who trained and competed, Emma developed a deep understanding of horses from an early age. Her dedication to dressage led her to compete at the highest levels across the United States.

Emma discovered sculpture while studying, creating her first life-sized equine work, Becoming One, now exhibited at Stone Quarry Hill Art Park in New York. In 2013, she moved to the Netherlands to pursue dressage before settling in Amsterdam, where she returned to ceramic sculpture.

Her work has since been featured at prestigious equestrian events, including The Dutch Masters, and she has collaborated with Horse & Country TV and created commissions for international equestrian figures.

Returning to New York in 2023, Emma established her own studio and continues to create distinctive equine sculptures, including a life-sized commission for designer Kelly Wearstler. Inspired by the beauty, movement, and individuality of horses, her work captures the powerful connection between humans and these remarkable animals.
